Sidekick Graphics: George Gregory
He’s been involved with the print industry since 1980. He started as a press apprentice, receiving his journeyman’s papers in 1984, but moved into the prepress department where he learned film assembly, the use of lithographic cameras, and operated a Crosfield drum scanner through the 1990′s. During this time he also started to get his feet wet in the world of digital page design.
In 2001 he began working with Creo Scitex’ Computer to Plate technology while taking over the art direction of Recreational Flyer Magazine, a national publication that serves the sport flying community. During this time he has also produced promotional literature, brochures, business cards and websites.
Although he possesses broad experience in nearly every facet of offset printing, his real love is design. There’s nothing more satisfying than producing clean, attractive design that effectively promotes businesses to their customers.
Graphic design aside, George is an avid pilot and has been doing his best to get up in the air since he was a kid. He survived early attempts to fly off the family roof, was an Air Cadet for 3 years, and as an adult attained Private, Commercial and Instructor ratings for single engine landplanes; he currently has about 950 hours on his license. He owned an older Cessna for 13 very happy years. You can view George’s LinkedIn profile here.
George produces files that won’t hang up at the printers, meaning less stress and cost-effective solutions for customers.
